Today Epic Games sent out the first wave of Alpha invites for its action/building game Fortnite. The first phase of Alpha testing is called, appropriately enough, Online Test No. 1 and it runs from Dec. 2 until Dec. 19.
More invites will be going out over the course of this week. Members of the Fortnite community are currently being invited to OT1, but people interested in taking part in the Alpha can sign up for future online tests and learn more at Fortnite.com. Each initial invite allows players to invite two friends, so even if some folks  haven’t signed up by now they still have the chance to get in this week.
During this phase of the Alpha, Epic is testing to verify at a larger scale that the basic systems in the game function properly, from sign-ups and patching, to gameplay. Epic is devoted to taking its time and working with players to make Fortnite a great experience.
