After a less than expected showing at midnight sales, it seems Microsoft is continuing to have trouble breaking Sony and Nintendo’s strangle hold on the Japanese market.
In its first four days of sale, the Xbox One has managed to sell just under 24,000 units, or roughly a third of the XBox 360’s sales through the same point. The 360 had managed to sell about 62,000 units in the first 2 days alone. In comparison, Sony moved 308,000 PS4 units in its first week while the Wii U sold a whopping 322,000 through the same point.
With an uphill battle ahead of them, we’ll see if Microsoft has any tricks up their sleeves to win over the Japanese crowd where Mario still reigns supreme. Read the original story here.
