Today EA SPORTS UFC released simulation results for UFC 178 taking place on Saturday, September 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a card that’s stacked from top to bottom the team took a look at one of the night’s most intriguing matchups, simulating the Featherweight bout between No.5 ranked Dustin Poirier and rising star Conor McGregor. Both fighters’ strengths were on display throughout the bout. While McGregor mixed up his striking, connecting often in the opening frame, he was unable to stop Poirier from landing the round’s only takedown and capitalizing with some ground and pound of his own. After trading some more shots to open up the second round, McGregor managed to rock Poirier with a kick to the head before putting him down with a wheel kick and diving in for the finish and the win in our Sim.
