While at gamescom Plantronics has announced two new PC gaming headsets, RIG Surround and RIG Flex. The new headsets will be available worldwide for Holiday 2014.
The successor to the GameCom 780, RIG Surround raises the bar for wired PC gaming headsets. Offering Dolby 7.1 Surround sound and signature Plantronics audio precision, RIG Surround will get your adrenaline pumping with totally immersive positional audio. Chose from three EQ settings: Pure for improved voice clarity, Intensify for bass and mid-range boost, and Seismic for earthshaking bass without rumbling or distortion. RIG Surround includes a full-featured audio controller allowing for a totally customizable auditory experience, allowing gamers to connect to a smartphone or tablet to mix in a custom gaming soundtrack, or stay connected to their apps and notifications when engaged in a marathon gaming session. And with a touch of the toggle, switch the mic from game to side chat to amp up your strategy. RIG Surround will be available this holiday season for $99.99 MSRP.
Plantronics is also introducing RIG Flex, a lightweight stereo headset for PC, Mac and mobile devices. The 40 mm speaker drivers deliver Plantronics audio performance with sharp highs and deep bass, and the noise-canceling boom mic ensures crystal clear chat and voice commands. Swap out the boom for the inline mic and take RIG Flex out of the house for music and gaming on the go. The cushioned headband and padded earcups make for hours of comfortable wear while gaming, watching movies or relaxing with music. RIG Flex will be available this Fall for $79.99 MSRP.
