Ubisoft Addresses Assassin’s Creed ‘Controversy’

Just in case you missed it, at E3 there was a mild controversy over a statement by a Ubisoft employee when he said that making female characters would have ‘doubled the workload’. Whether or not this comment was taken out of context, Ubisoft have come out to try to clear the air in a statement, saying there will be many strong female characters in the game. They’ve now take the next step, releasing a brand new trailer.

The lavish and violent new trailer shows Arno, the protagonist, running amidst Paris tearing itself apart to save a girl we know to be named Elise, a Templar. At the end of the trailer, Arno and Elise team up and get ready to fight an army of guards. The press release states that they have established ‘an unlikely bond’ as she tries to secure her place in Templar history.

Will the introduction of Elise be enough to free AC:Unity from more public image problems ahead of its October 28th release? Let us know below.
