Titanfall will have a season pass to support its line-up of paid downloadable content, Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella has confirmed. In a recent interview, he talked about the free and paid DLC plans, and maintained that it won’t be home to microtransactions.
“We’re going to do paid DLC, we’re also going to do free updates,” Zampella told GameSpot. “There are things that we want in the game that we didn’t get to ship in the final game. So we’ll add private matches and things like that for free. There will be some paid DLC. We’re going to do a season pass just because if you buy it up front, it’s a deal. We’re not going to do microtransactions.”
The commitment to continued free support naturally brings up platform parity, since Respawn isn’t personally developing the Xbox 360 version. That has instead gone to Bluepoint, which led to the question of whether it will receive the same patches as the Xbox One and PC versions. His answer on that point was noncommittal.
“We’ll have to sit down with EA and talk about that,” he said. “My assumption is yes, but I don’t know if I’m the best person to speak for that”
