This is a fantastic new action RPG from the studio most famous for the Persona series. One of the best games of the year and the first game in a potentially new franchise.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
While Final Fantasy XVI’s return to a classic sword-and-sorcery setting didn’t please everyone, the second part of Final Fantasy VII’s remake was a justifiable hit. Incredible visuals, combat, storytelling, and acting make this a must-play.
Astro Bot
Not every game needs to be heavy, dark, or violent. Sometimes, great games can be pleasers for all ages. Astro Bot is one of the best platform puzzle games of the year. It’s joyous, colorful, and fun.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
This game comes from the folks behind the well-known Yakuza series of action games. With great acting, frantic and fun combat and a cool new Hawaiian setting, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is one of 2024’s best games.
Black Myth: Wukong
Fans of Soulslikes were treated to some big games in 2024, including Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Black Myth: Wukong, which were both incredibly challenging and incredibly good to look at.
