Removed Pokemon Video Steers Fan Speculation Toward a Switch Release

Why Did You Remove Pokemon Sun and Moon, Nintendo?

The thing about Nintendo is that they have crazy attention to detail. Furthermore, every move they make is usually deliberate. In this case, they removed an archived Nintendo Direct video from youtube. This particular video was for the Pokemon Sun and Moon reveal celebrating Pokemon’s anniversary. Hence, because of Nintendo’s tendency, many fans believe this means there will be another Pokemon reveal soon.

Speculation points to the impending announcement of Pokemon Stars. One astute observer, Joe Merrick of fan site Serebii.net, also saw that the video was taken down from NeoGAF. Here’s the explanation he offered:

“[Nintendo still has] the X & Y one up. We never had an enhanced version of X & Y that could muddle the message. Typically they remove videos when things like that could happen.”

Pokemon Stars is the rumored re-release of Pokemon Sun and Moon for the Nintendo Switch. If one Nintendo Direct stream is taken down, history suggests it’s so that another one can take its place. Therefore, the reveal of Pokemon Stars could be coming soon. At least, that’s the hope.

Fans are now running wild across forums. For now, the next Nintendo Direct stream is all they can think about. Think about it.

Since Nintendo seems to have no care in the world when it comes to announcing mainline Pokemon titles at E3, it’s hard to say whether we’ll hear anything during or before then. Nevertheless, we’ll just have to wait. If they really want the Nintendo Switch to be as big as the Wii, however, then a console Pokemon title seems like a guarantee. What are your thoughts? Happy gaming.
