Prey Is out Next Week and Early Review Copies Won’t Be Available

Bethesda Will Not Have Early Review Copies of Prey Available

If you were thinking you could get your hands on an early review copy of Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi title, think again. Keeping stride with a policy outlined last year before the release of Dishonored 2, Prey will not have any early review copies available. This is disappointing for anyone who thought something might have changed between then and now, however, unfortunately the news doesn’t come as a surprise!

With just over a week to go until the anticipated title is released, Bethesda’s hired Public Relations company has confirmed the news that their policy to send media review copies one day before release will continue for their newest game. This policy was officially announced last year, between the release of DOOM and Dishonored 2, stirring controversy among the pro-consumer crowd who saw it as a way to mislead consumers.

If you plan on purchasing Prey, the digital pre-order for the PS4 is currently 10% off for PlayStation Plus members! Bethesda has said that depending on your region, this PS4 version will take up somewhere between 38.2GB and 39.5GB of space! The news of a day one update has been confirmed as well, however there is no further information on this yet.

For those of you who have pre-ordered the PS4 version, Prey will be available to pre-load beginning at 12am EST on April 28 in North America, and at midnight on April 29 in Europe. Prey will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC next Friday, May 5th, and there is a currently a demo to play on all platforms. While this isn’t the same as having the full game to review early, at least it’s something.
