Dark Souls Announces The Release Date For Their Second And Final Expansion: The Ringed City!
The Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed that the expansion for the exciting RPG has a launch date of March 28th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A trailer for “The Ringed City” was also released alongside the date announcement. From the look of it, we are headed to the ends of the earth! Check it out below!
The Dark Soul’s web page tells us more about what to expect on our journey to The Ringed City. The details read: “At the close of the Age of Fire, as the world ends and all lands converge upon themselves, a lone adventurer descends into the madness of the earth and uncovers the secrets of the past.” Indeed further reading tells us we are after the Slave Knight Gael and are pursuing him to the literal ends of the earth. Dramatic.
As a result of a manhunt to the ends of the world, we will be encountering a host of new elements. “As players make their way to the fabled Ringed City they will encounter ancient beasts, a new cast of characters teetering on the edge of insanity, new armor, weapons, magic, and at the bottom of it all, a long lost city filled with new horrors for players to overcome.” Overall, it seems as if the new expansion promises hours of fresh gaming and frustration for new players and seasoned Souls veterans alike.
If you purchased the $24.99 Season Pass early on, the new expansion is included and available upon release. For those who like to pay as you go, the expansion will be available for solo purchase for $14.99.
Also, Bandai Namco has announced the release of a special “Game of The Year” edition called Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades available on April 21st. In addition to Dark Souls III, this version will include both expansions: Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City. So if you completely slept through the last year or so, you can wake up and play all of these epic games at once!
