Celebrate Tamriel’s “New Life Festival” With Double XP, Special Quests, and More as the Year Comes to an End.
Ahhh the holiday season. Overwatch is hitting us with its winter special. Destiny is onboard with its Winter Event. But now it seems like we get a party in Tamriel! Today, the Elder Scrolls Online announced the kickoff of their “New Life Festival”. This end of the year bash will run from now until Jan 4, 2017, at 10 am EST. This will allow plenty of time for players to take part in special quests and earn double XP from now until January.
So, how do you take part in the festival? According to Bethesda, players must meet Breda outside Windhelm to activate a new quest called “The New Life Festival”. Apparently, once players complete the list of tasks, that every NPC ALWAYS asks you to do before a quest, they can they participate in the special nine daily quests. Since the New Life Festival is supposed to be a holiday for all the residents of Tamriel, these nine quests are based on specific races and their regions. Some of the quests include the following:
- Castle Charm Challenge (Breton)
- Fish Boon Feast (Argonian)
- Lava Foot Stomp (Dunmer)
- Mud Ball Merriment (Bosmer)
- Signal Fire Sprint (Redguard)
- Snow Bear Plunge (Nord)
- Stonetooth Bash (Orc)
- The Trial of Five-Clawed Guile (Khajiit)
- War Orphan’s Sojourn (Altmer)
During and before these quests you are also able to earn double XP for 2 hours after sampling Breda’s Magnificent Mead. Because apparently giving out free flagons of mead and ale are a thing during the festival. By completing the race specific quests, players can earn a New Life Gift Box. All Gift Boxes for the festival contain: Â
- A random crafting material (Provisioning ingredient, Alchemy reagent, or Health glyph)
- A consumable version of a New Life-themed Memento
- A Skinchanger style item (Wolfsbane Incense)
In addition, players can also score a Skinchanger Motif chapter, a New Life recipe (of either green, blue or gold-quality), and a special New Life Collectible.
Complete every quest and Breda will reward you with the New Life Cerulean Dye, New Life Celebrant Achievement, and the title Magnanimous (even though we know you did it for the loot).
