New Job Listing for Bungie Hints at Destiny 2 Details
While Destiny 2 has been confirmed, there are few details that have been revealed other than a general release date in 2017 on the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Today, a new Bungie job posting hints at new details surrounding the game development. The job hints that there will be small, regular additions to the story throughout the calendar year.
The job posting for Bungie is for a narrative director who “will direct the storytelling efforts for regular, small-scale Destiny releases throughout the calendar year.” There are two hints that can be taken from this posting. The first is that there will be small additions to the story throughout the year, and the second is that these additions will be released on a regular or frequent basis. The following responsibilities are set for the narrative director:
- Develop and communicate a story vision that supports the Release Pillars through structure, character, and theme.
- Coordinate with Narrative Discipline Leads to ensure the content meets pre-established franchise narrative goals and supports the Release Pillars.
- Rapidly iterate on small-scale projects on a condensed timeline and ensure successful completion.
- Ensure narrative scope and schedules align with the production plan and are achievable.
These new details come after the news that Bungie is planning to make some big narrative changes for Destiny 2. It is not much surprise that Bungie would be searching for someone to help them with these changes. The regular story additions may just be the change necessary to make Destiny 2 a huge success.
