Some games weren’t bad or good, they were just weird…
Eight travelers, eight adventure, eight roles. It seems like the studio invested a little too much into realizing the “octo” portion of their identity. The game itself might be a lot of fun, but the focus on making everything revolve around the number 8 is strange, to say the least. One can only hope that nothing was sacrificed or overexpanded in order to make everything reach the target 8.
Yes, this game is making the list twice. Avengers does promise to be an exciting thrill ride that will allow us to indulge in our deepest comic-book desires, but the character design leaves a little wanting. The omission of Hawkeye is egregious enough, but some of the outfits are just plain ridiculousness. Why does Thor have a bunch of car lights hanging on his chest? It doesn’t have to resemble the live-action movies, but it should at least still be cool!
That’s the end of our look at the best, worst, and most cringy moments of Square Enix’s E3 briefing. It looks like Square Enix is set to continue pumping a lot of energy into the Final Fantasy franchise while remastering some old favorites. The new Marvel’s Avengers game has all the promises to be extremely wicked, even if, and I say this again in case my frustration was not apparent enough, Hawkeye is inexplicably absent.
