10 of The Very Best Nintendo Switch Games You’ve Never Played

3) Katana Zero

Katana Zero will first capture your attention with its neo-noir style and colorful aesthetic but it will absolutely draw you in within the first few minutes and hold your attention for hours. That’s because this action-platformer is more than a little addicting. You’ll play as Zero, who’s a war veteran with amnesia dressed as a samurai, who has the ability to manipulate time. This game is fast, immersive, and completely badass. It helps that it also sounds and looks amazing and has an extremely interesting narrative. Slash, slice, and dash your way through enemies with brutal acrobatics and cross your fingers that you don’t get hit while doing so because yes, it means a quick and instant death. Really there’s no reason not to play Katana Zero, especially for just $15 USD, so it’s best to grab this one as soon as you possibly can.

2) Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition

Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition is a point-and-click realist adventure that takes place over five acts and is an incredible work of art. It tells the story of an aging delivery driver, Conway, who’s trying to make a delivery to a place unknown and takes a very different approach to the point-and-click adventure genre. Instead of completing tedious tasks you control the flow of the conversations in accordance to the experience you wish to have. And every other part of the game is crafted with such detail that it makes you want to explore it even further. Despite taking a minimalist approach to both the music and the visuals and with very little voice acting, this game is utterly moving. Whether Kentucky Route Zero is your typical type of game or not it’s certainly worth a playthrough. So why not add it to your list today?

1) Celeste

From Canadian developers Matt Thorson and Noel Berry, there’s no doubt about why Celeste should be at the top of your must-play list for the Nintendo Switch. This narrative-driven adventure platformer won Game Awards for Best Independent Game and Game for Impact in 2018 and that’s just the first and second of many reasons to check it out. The story is about Madeline, a girl dealing with personal struggles and depression, on her journey to the top of Celeste Mountain. There’s no way you won’t fall in love with every aspect of this game either. From creative level design, charming characters, fantastic music, and dialogue that’ll make you really feel something, this game is not only extremely challenging, but also vastly rewarding.  Overall, Celeste is just a huge blast to play and is the perfect addition to your games library.
