Celebrating Canada Day With The Best Canadian Made Video Games

Triple Eh! Games

Let’s take a gander at a handful of Canadian games with big budgets and big ambitions.

Anthem

Developed by: Bioware. Location: Edmonton, AB

Anthem. Well, maybe it wasn’t the epic game we’ve come to expect from Bioware – but it’s still garnered a pretty dedicated following.

Batman: Arkham Origins

Developed by: WB Games Montreal. Location: Montreal, QC

The third in the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins takes us back in time to before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and features the villain Black Mask who sets a bounty on Batman’s cowl. While it might not have lived up to its predecessor’s, it was still pretty damn enjoyable.

The Golf Club 2019

Developed by: HB Studios. Location: Lunenburg, NS

The Golf Club Hero

The Golf Club 2019 is the first non-EA Sports game to hold the Official PGA license in… well, decades. Like the previous Golf Club games, it seems to a bit on the difficult side, particularly with the controls. But it’s still the best golf game money can buy these days.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

Developed by: Ubisoft Quebec. Location: Quebec City, QC

The epic Assassin’s Creed franchise continues with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which takes place in ancient Greece. It’s everything we love about the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the movie 300 all wrapped up into one.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Developed by: Eidos Montreal. Location: Montreal, QC

The final installment of the Lara Croft origin story, Shadow of the Tomb Raider had some big shoes to fill following up on the success on the two brilliant predecessors – and for the most part, it succeeded nicely. Let’s hope this isn’t the last we see of Lara…
