Here is a list of some of the worst moments during the Xbox Briefing.

Battletoads

When they first announced Battletoads as getting a revival, I was absolutely stoked! I loved Battletoads back on the NES, despite it being brutally challenging. It was safe to assume the new game would feature similar gameplay and offer three-player local co-op – both of which it does. When the music started playing today, I cheered knowing I was finally going to get a look at this sweet new game. However, I was absolutely floored by the game’s visuals – they look just awful! They took these beloved characters and stylized them into some bizarre creation. Damn…

2020

It’s great to see so many upcoming Xbox One games in the pipeline, but holy crap there were a lot of “2020” dates today. Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Minecraft Dungeons, Tales of Arise, Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Halo Infinite are some of the big stand-outs.

Gears POP!

I know, I know, I really shouldn’t have expected much from Gears, POP!, but damn, that small slice of gameplay didn’t look fun at all…

Missing in Action

Fable 4

While today’s briefing showcased 60 games coming to Xbox platforms over the next 18 months, there were still some games fans were hoping would make an appearance. Admittedly, most of these games are probably either never happening or being prepared for Project Scarlett, but it still would have been nice to see a new Forza game, a new Fable game, a sequel to ReCore, or something from Rare that’s not Sea of Thieves. Maybe next year…
