5 Reasons Why Sea of Thieves Will Make You Forget About The Lack of Xbox Exclusives

3. What Is A Pirates Favorite Letter? ARR

Rare has made fantastically funny games in the past, often including some witty adult humor and glorious puns. Sea of Thieves may not have much in the way of dialogue in the beta, but that means actions speak louder than words. Being able to get drunk, stumble, and vomit uncontrollably is hilarious. Add to that the over-the-top pirate-ness with stereotypical swords, pistols, cannons, and altogether tomfoolery, this plays more like an interactive Pixar movie. While some players are going to take Sea of Thieves a little too seriously once it launches, it’s important to remember that this – like any game – is just a game, and you should be having fun, of which there is much to be had.

4. You Can’t Sing A Shanty Alone

While Sea of Thieves does have the option for single player in the beta – and presumably the launch of the game – it pales in comparison to multiplayer. While it might be awkward to play with strangers, getting together a group of your friends turns this from a simple co-op game to quite possibly the most fun you’ve had with a controller in your mitts. All the crazy antics and weirdness that Sea of Thieves offers up becomes infinitely more fun with a crew of your buddies: with drinking contests, attempting to pilot a ship, and firing your allies out of a cannon. Being a pirate is about camaraderie and the game is going to rely heavily on this fact: you definitely should be playing with your friends. 5. Best Start Believing In Ghost Stories

The beta was available for so little time it left a pang of disappointment that we had to stop playing pirates so soon. The truth is, for everything we got to see that Sea of Thieves has to offer, we know Rare is holding back. If this is what they decided to show us we can only imagine how much greater the finished product will be. We’ve heard stories of the Kraken lurking beneath the depths, and with skeletons rising on the beaches, who’s to say all manner of ghost stories won’t come true? The truth is we have no idea what Rare has in store and honestly we cannot wait to find out – let your imagination run wild!
