Respec Your Powers and Skills
First time players of any MMO usually have no idea what they are investing their skill points on, it’s mostly “Oh! That looks cool!” but as you get to higher levels you realize the ‘cool’ skill really doesn’t help you at all and the skill point goes to waste. Luckily, in DCUO if you run into this problem there’s a station in The Watchtower (or HQ) near the lush plant area near Swamp Thing that allows you to respec not only your skill points but your powers too — for a modest price of course. The beauty of this feature is you can change the weapon set you use all together, I found I didn’t like duel pistols so I respeced and allocated those skill points under shield then went and bought a shield weapon. As you progress in the game you will come to know and love the respec station.
Kick-Ass and Look Good Doing It
Upon creating your hero/villain, some of you will take a liking to the costume choice you sunk an hour trying to create, during the game you will get new gear and equipping it will change your characters costume — sometimes for the worse. If you’re torn between equipping the new stat-rich chest piece you looted but scared your character will look like a DC comic reject then head on over to the style tab in your menus, you’ll be able to choose to lock in the original look of your gear while keeping the stats of the newly equipped item. It also saves the look of every piece you collect so you can choose to mix and match with old and new style to create one sweet looking hero.

DCUO is one of those games that require a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for you, but trust me when I say the leg work is totally worth it.
