Sonic the Hedgehog is Getting a New Design After Massive Fan Backlash
The Sonic the Hedgehog trailer did not receive the positive attention that producers were hoping for. As a result of the criticisms, the studio is opting to redevelop the iconic character. According to producer Tim Miller, who has seen the new design, fans are going to be happy.
Speaking about the change, Miller says “Look, I was with fans and so was Jeff [Fowler, director of the film]. When the shit hit the fan, I went over there and said, ‘The most important thing to do, man, is say, ‘I fucked up.”
He continues, “He’d already sent a tweet out an hour before I got there. He’s a good man. It was exactly the right way to handle that. The fans have a voice in this too. There’s a right way to listen.”
Miller concludes by saying, “The updated Sonic design hasn’t been released publicly yet, but Miller has seen them. “And I think the fans will be pleased.”
As a producer for the film, Tim Miller isn’t exactly the most trustworthy of sources. he has a clear interest in seeing the film succeed and will, of course, try and boost its popularity.
The new Sonic the Hedgehog movie is now set for release on February 14th, 2020. A perfect date spot.
