2K and Sumo Digital Are Teaming Up on Two Unannounced Projects

The Details of the Games Remain Under Wraps by Sumo Digital

Sumo Digital is partnering with 2K in order to develop two new games. As of right now, the companies are choosing to keep details of the projects a secret. The only thing we do know is the games are coming out on PC and the current generation of consoles.

Sumo managing director Gary Dunn speaks about teaming up. He says “We’re delighted to be working with 2K and look forward to disclosing details of the projects in due course”.

The announcement also shares that Sumo is giving production to Sheffield Studio and Red Kite Games. Red Kite Games was bought by Sumo earlier this year and is known for God of War 3 Remastered.

Some theories are currently circling as to what the games may be about. Job postings are the only thread available for curious onlookers to pull on. These postings hint towards a first-person multiplayer shooter. An example of such a job posting is for the technical director in which Sumo is looking for applicants with experience in “first-person action” games and “games as a service.” They are also looking for animators with first-person experience and programmers multiplayer experience.

It certainly seems like Sumo Digital is developing a live-action shooter.

Sumo Digital is currently purportedly working on Dead Island 2. With the astounding lack of details, it remains possible that this is somehow involved – although not likely.
