New Teaser Trailer for Baldur’s Gate 3 Drops

The Announcement Was Made During the Google Stadia Reveal

Larian Studios is working on a third installment for one of their first and greatest hit games; Baldur’s Gate. Baldur’s Gate is a role-playing game that takes place in the Forgotten Realms, the universe of Dungeons & Dragons. 18 years after the Bhaalspawn sage came to an end, fans will venture off on a third adventure with a new party of heroes. If the inclusion of a Mind-Flayer in the teaser video is any indication, fans can look forward to familiar creatures.

Larian Studio is adept at creating captivating RPG titles as their resume clearly shows. Divinity: Orginal Sin and it’s sequel are two amazing games that showcase an amazing arsenal of monsters and lore similar to Forgotten Realms.

CEO of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, first approached Wizards of the Coast regarding the project before Divinity: Original Sin’s release. At the time, Wizards believed Larian Studios were “too green”. It was only before the release of Divinity: Original Sin 2 that Wizards reached out about a Baldur’s Gate project. In a single weekend, a month before Divinity: Original Sin 2’s release, Vincke and a team of writers and producer, through together an initial design.

No Baldur’s Gate 3 release date accompanies the release of the teaser trailer. Vincke is playing the story close to the chest, although the teaser does offer some hints. The video shows a man with a flaming fist emblazoned on his tunic, stumbling across cobbled streets. The man soon descened into horror, mutating into a guresome horror; a mind-flayer. It appears Baldur’s Gate is being invaded by the psionic creatures and it seems only a group of brave adventures can save it.
