Players May Soon Be Able to Purify Shadow Pokemon
You may remember the main, over-arching objective of Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is to purify shadow pokemon. Shadow Pokemon are creatures that commit wrongful acts because the doors to their hearts are artificially shut. A new update file by Pokemon Go suggests these Shadow Pokemon are coming to our mobile devices.
In a file showing the updates found in Version 0.147.0 of Pokemon Go, a line near the top reads “New Pokedex Stat: purified pokemon”. The file then lists a number of different Pokemon, likely those that can players can purify. These Pokemon are Pikachu, Wurmple, Wobbuffet, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Charizard, Squirtle, Blastoise, and Raticate.
In the previous installments, players are able to purify their Pokemon by walking around, battling, and interacting with them. This mechanic seems like a perfect fit for the stylings of Pokemon Go. Similar to hatching eggs, a player may need to walk a certain distance in order to purify a particular Pokemon.
Niantic is not confirming these rumors at this time. It would make sense for another big update as Pokemon Go is promising an extremely eventful summer. The company is already offering exciting features such as the limited time availability of legendary pokemon.
