A Jumanji Video Game is Currently in Development

Welcome to the Jungle, We’ve Got Fun and Games

The movie about a video game that sucks users into a digital world is getting a video game. Jumanji the video game will launch on November 15 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The sequel to the popular movie is releasing around this time which makes the date very fitting.

The modern Jumanji movie stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black as avatars in a video game. This is in comparison to the previous Jumanji starring Robin Williams that revolves around a board game. The plot follows four teenagers who accidentally enter the video game dimension and through their avatars have to find a way out.

The game is coming to you from Bandai Namco and is being developed by Outright Games. Outright Games CEO Terry Malham says “Jumanji is a property we have been eager to work with for a long time”. The developer is renown for making family-style games such as Paw Patrol: On a Roll. One can reasonably expect this game will also be very child-oriented.

There are not a lot of details about the gameplay. A maximum of four players can work together online or via split-screen to stay alive and find rare jewels.

The teaser trailer doesn’t offer a lot in terms of content but does showcase the four high-profile actors off in their animated form. It will definitely be a thrill to control a virtual Dawyne Johnson and kick some butt.
