The Trailer Actually Looks Pretty Awesome!
Footage of the upcoming Monster Hunter movie is now available on YouTube. Allegedly leaked during the Shanghai International Film Festival, the brief trailer showcases some recognizable faces as well as a look at one of the formidable monsters; a diablos. A diablos is a gigantic creature with huge horns, a forked tail, and the ability to burrow underground.
The director of the movie is Paul W. S. Anderson, a man with significant experience bringing video games into the realm of film. Anderson is responsible for the Resident Evil franchise, one of the most successful video game adaptations to hit the big screen. In 1995, Anderson directed the motion picture adaptation of Mortal Kombat. The movie stars Milla Jovovich as Captain Natalie Artemis, a member of a United Nations military team that plummets into a portal, transporting them to an alternate dimesnsion. Jovovich has previously worked with Anderson during the filming of the various Resident Evil movies.
Some concern has been circling the forums after Milla Jovovich tweeted photos depicting members of the cast in modern military uniforms. People instantly began criticizing the movie for seemingly drastically altering the plot. However, it now seems the pictures show the United Nation military team prior to falling into the portal.
