The Top and Bottom 3 Games From September 2016

The Best and Worst From September 2016

September was a great month for games. This past month alone, we managed to score five games in the 90’s, which is truly amazing. I cannot remember the last time we had a month where 5 games received such outstanding scores in one month. We reviewed over 40 games in September and while there was a collection of stunners, we also saw an assortment of stinkers. Several games received sub 50 scores which, in this industry, is a disaster. October is shaping up to be an equally impressive month, just take a look at this top 5 list for October. Without further delay, let’s get right to the best and the worst from September 2016.

The Best

Forza Horizon 3

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way. Forza Horizon 3 is hands-down our best game of the month, it might even be our best game of the year. The team at Turn 10 have churned out another amazing racer and have now cemented themselves as the king of racing games. Forza Horizon 3 is the perfect sequel adding enough new content to stay fresh, while retaining all the hallmarks that made the previous games so awesome. It’s gorgeous, features terrific music, crazy amount of events, huge roster of cars and massive open world. It’s awesome and if you have an Xbox One, seriously, what are you waiting for?

FIFA 17

Sports games rarely make our best of the month awards. Not so much that they are bad, or anything like that, but rather from year-to-year you always know what you are going to get. That is mainly the same game with incremental changes, more animations and maybe the odd new mode. FIFA 17 on the other hand has made some significant upgrades and The Journey single player mode is a game changer. It is the most complete and easily the best soccer game we have played to date. How can it not make our list?
