Top 5 Video Game Releases to Watch in December 2016

The holiday season is upon us and usually, that means that the big games have all come and gone and are simply waiting on store shelves to be whisked away by Christmas shoppers. This year we still have some amazing titles yet to hit retail and one of them is hands down one of the most anticipated games of all time. Last month was simply massive with Final Fantasy XV, Watch Dogs 2, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Dishonored 2and Pokemon Sun & Moon all hitting store shelves. That’s one hell of a lineup and though December isn’t quite so stacked it still has some good looking games ripe for stuffing into stockings. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Steep – Ubisoft – PC, PS4, Xbox One (Dec 2)

Steep is already on store shelves and in digital stores everywhere. Hit the mountains to tackle skiing and snowboarding, paragliding and wingsuit flying in one of the most exhilarating titles we’ve played in a while. Looking to fill in a niche that hasn’t seen a lot of action in years, Steep takes a line that is somewhere in the middle of sim and arcade. It’s not too over the top but it isn’t 100% sim either. Our review is still in progress but we spent a lot of time with it during the beta and were left impressed saying, “It’s been a while since I’ve felt the rush of tearing down a mountainside, powder splashing as I weave through trees and the Steep Beta scratched an itch I had almost forgotten about.”

Space Hulk: Deathwing – Focus Home Interactive – PC (Dec 9)

Whether you’re a fan or not it is impossible not to recognize how much influence the Warhammer 40,000 franchise has had on not only gaming but geek culture in general. From tabletop to card games to video games it is everywhere and while often flying under the radar it is an IP that has seen some of the best experiences available. The latest in the Warhammer 40,000 universe to hit PCs is Space Hulk: Deathwing, a first-person shooter that is based upon the strategy game of the same name. Play solo or with three more of your friends in a desperate battle against the Genestealers out for your blood.
