The 10 Most Wickedly Evil Video Game Villains of All Time

Our followers on our Press X To Podcast page gave us a list of ten villains they felt should make the perfect list cut. So, we present the first five honorable mentions here:

Wheatley

Wheatley is a complicated little villain from Portal 2. An AI with a personality which didn’t start off bad – in fact, he fully intended to help Portal’s hero Chell escape her predicament. Unfortunately, a series of events transpired and Wheatley went bad.

GLaDOS

GLaDOS, the villain from the original Portal, and one of three AI programs listed in these honorable mentions. Maybe it’s time we take a hard look at AI and make sure we’re not programming something that could destroy us all…

Dr. Robotnik

Dr. Robotnik is the evil nemesis of Sonic in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. This jerk keeps turning cute little animals into robots – fortunately, Sonic is usually there to stop him. Note: For years, he’s been marketed as “Dr. Eggman”, but that name is stupid and needs to be put down – he shall forever be known by his far cooler name, Dr. Robotnik.

Albert Wesker

Despite everything that transpires throughout the Resident Evil franchise, it’s almost always a certainty that Albert Wesker has his hand in whatever evil is lurking. He’s taken on various forms throughout the years, but he’s always a stylish pain-in-the-ass.

Ganondorf

Like Bowser is to Super Mario, Ganondorf (sometimes referred to as simply Ganon) is to Link in the Legend of Zelda franchise. A maniacal villain hell-bent on possessing power via the Triforce – good thing Hyrule always has a Link to take up the mantle of hero and stop him.
