March 2016 Loot Crate Review featuring Level Up! – Theme: VS

What’s up fellow swag lovers! Welcome to the very first official Loot Crate review here on COGconnected. We’re really excited to team up with the good folks over at Loot Crate to show you all the cool swag they unload in their boxes every month. I’ve been a long time subscriber on my own and can say that without a shadow of a doubt it is one of my favorite things to look forward to every month. The theme for this month’s crate was VS and I’ll go over the goodies in the regular crate plus all the plush swag in the Level Up! package as well. First things first… let’s unbox this bad boy!

Loot Crate Vs Box – March 2016

Alright, lets get into it! This month’s box had a wealth of goodies inside and the first thing that popped out was quite obviously the Daredevil/Punisher beanie (or toque if you speak Canadian!). Great color on both sides of this reversible beanie and the embroidery for the logos are pretty nice. I’ll admit it felt a bit looser than I’d like but overall it still fit pretty snug.

Next, we’ve got the Batman V Superman Mighty Wallet and while the wallet itself might be cool in that it’s made of paper and is virtually indestructible, it’s also the second Mighty Wallet in the past six months or so. I only need one wallet and the Simpsons wallet from a few months back is heads and tails better than this one with the BvS artwork not being all that stellar.

The Alien vs Predator Titan Vinyl is very cool indeed. On a personal note I was pulling for a Predator but wasn’t disappointed with the Xenomorph either. I’m a bit of a nut for vinyl collector characters and while Funko Pops and their brethren are usually on the top of my list this was a welcome addition to the crate.

It’s always nice when there’s a t-shirt included in your crate. Everyone loves t-shirts. The Lootcrate ones can be hit and miss with last month’s Deadpool T being a big win. This month’s Star Trek ‘Mirror Mirror’ Spock face-off shirt is probably a real winner for some but the odd cream coloring just isn’t the nicest I’ve seen so it really knocks the shirt down a bit.

Wrapping up the crate with the comic book and the pin I have to say I’m pretty happy with both. Harley is everyone’s favorite bad girl at the moment and I can always appreciate a killer Amanda Conner cover. The pin included is probably one of the nicer ones we’ve seen too but admittedly is a bit cluttered with a ton going on it what ends up being a really small space.

VERDICT

The ups in this crate are a quality beanie, very cool vinyl character and a great looking Harley Quinn 1-shot. On the bottom of the scale we’ve got another Mighty Wallet that just isn’t all that nice, a bit of a muddled pin and a shirt that falls on the lower end of the rating when we compare to past crates. Regardless, if you like what you’ve seen and wonder what all the buzz is about why don’t you get your own crate? Sign up now for April’s Quest crate which has some Labyrinth goods, some Goonies swag and more!
