COGconnected’s E3 2017 Best in Show Awards

The Prettiest Pony – Days Gone

This brutal exclusive from Sony is a visual stunner. Absurd numbers of freakers on screen and environments that rival the best we’ve ever seen highlight this upcoming exclusive gem. One look at the gameplay trailer from Sony’s press conference and you will see why Days Gone generated some serious buzz at E3.

Best Booth Carpet – Nintendo

We could go to sleep on this carpet it was so amazing. Unlike last year’s boring grey winner (and perennial champion in this category – Microsoft), Nintendo’s carpet had some amazing designs and was the clear winner this year.

Best VR Trip – Doom VFR

Doom was amazing and now it’s coming to VR?!?! How fantastic is that! Up to this point, VR has been (mostly) a disappointment but that could all change when Doom VR touches down.

Best Racing Game – Forza Motorsport 7

Yeah, it’s as predictable as Friday afternoon beers in the summer, but the Forza franchise is now firmly established as the best racing game on the planet. Forza Motorsport 7 takes another leap forward with stunning visuals and looks absolutely unreal in 4K played on the Xbox One X.

Best in Show – Super Mario Odyssey

For the second straight year, Nintendo takes home COGconnected’s E3 Best in Show award. Super Mario Odyssey recaptures the magic from some of Mario’s greatest adventures like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. The controls are spot on, the visuals are beautiful, the music is catchy and fun, and Charles Martinet once again delivers the iconic voice of Mario we all recognize and love.
