The Worst

Unknown Fate

While the graphics weren’t bad and helped with the VR immersion, unfortunately, this game just couldn’t stand on its own. With a progressively less interesting story and frustrating mechanics that became even more inhibitive outside of VR, we said “playing Unknown Fate through on a PC with a regular controller really highlighted the elements that were lacking in the game.”

Blind

VR has had a bad month with the addition of Blind to the list. This game went for a genuinely brave and unique idea, having the player control the world through the senses of a blind woman. But once again, the gameplay and the story both fell short on the delivery, with puzzles that fall flat, characters that go stale, and mechanics that frustrate. No surprise that we said in our review, “when a game is this testing of a player’s patience, it’s very hard to recommend.”

Senran Kagura Reflexions

Look, it’s a game about massaging a teenage girl with various implements that range from a cat eared vibrator to a wooden roller wielded like a saw. With uncomfortable incestuous roleplay and context-less fantasties, the core concept of the game is deeply troubling. Of Senran Kagura Reflexions, we unsurprisingly said, “you’d be hard-pressed to get through this game without feeling gross or guilty.”
