10 IPs That Would Make Great Telltale Games (That We’ll Probably Never See)

3 – Deadpool

Not only are superhero movies and franchises popular these days, but Deadpool has a massive fan following after the release of his film in early 2016. Breaking the fourth wall, self-deprecating humor, and gratuitous violence set this comic franchise apart from others. These qualities will make for a unique experience within Telltale’s formulas, and sequences where Deadpool tells the player what to choose or even insults players for making a poor choice would be hilarious. Now if only they can get Ryan Reynolds on board?

2 – Grand Theft Auto V

Since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games has taken to working on GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2. Some fans, myself included, had hoped for some hefty GTA V DLC like those made for GTA IV. Telltale Games could continue the GTA V narrative through their medium without Rockstar having to take resources away from their other projects. In particular, I would love to see a “Grand Theft Auto V: The Telltale Series – Lamar Davis”. featuring one of my favorite characters of the series.

1 – Mr. Robot

One of the most popular shows currently airing, Mr. Robot has a fantastic narrative and its own unique way of storytelling. It also features a solid amount of interesting characters and storylines that Telltale Games could explore further. Likewise, Telltale Games could also look to establishing their own characters in this universe and tell their own story separate from the TV series. Like the Game of Thrones series, this series could run concurrently alongside the show, even having the story mentioned within the show itself.

Special Mention – Death Note

We’ve seen that Telltale Games does a great job in adapting comic book franchises to their engine, and producing their own stories. I think that they would be able to adapt manga as well, and Death Note could be an interesting choice given its popularity worldwide in addition to a film being produced in North America. Whether this story follows Light or one of the other characters, or even an original character who happens across a Death Note, the ability to choose who dies could be an interesting dynamic.
