Sony Partners With Perfect World for a New PlayStation Battle Royale
The battle royale genre has no end in sight, not since PUBG became popular and Fortnite took its lunch. Considering the recorded revenue of the latter, it’s no wonder companies like Perfect World Entertainment are entering the fray. Here’s their take on the genre, in the form of Farside: An Athletic Game. The company announced their game at the Sony China Press conference.
The subtitle for Farside may be subject to change since it sounds like a bad translation of another language. What little we know about the game comes from its newly released trailer, which is no more than half a minute long. However, battle royales being battle royales, we can imagine what the game will offer. Additionally, the trailer (available below) shows us what looks like an emphasis on vehicle combat. Whether or not the combat experience will be that exciting, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Farside is slated for a 2018 release and is being developed by Dark Horse Game Studio. While the game lacks a concrete release date, we know it will arrive for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
