‘Hitman 2’ Devs Hiring for Next-Gen Title

IO Interactive Is Looking for New Programmers

Two job postings found on the official website of Hitman 2 developer IO Interactive are calling for experienced programmers who can help IO “develop a next generation animation system” for their Glacier 2 engine.

“We are building a next generation animation system for our Glacier 2 game engine,” read the description for the animation programmer job. “We are therefore looking for programmers who are experienced with animation systems and animation code, and have a knack for low level optimizations.”

The description also states that this job involves “working on developing the new system as well as preparing and transitioning gameplay features from the current one.”

Notably, one of the requirements for the position is programming experience for the PS4 & Xbox One.

Also, another job description for a different position at IO, states that, “IO Interactive is currently looking for a full-time Lead Concept Artist to join an unannounced AAA game project.”

So what game could IO Interactive be hiring for? Well it’s possible that they’re hiring for a third Hitman game since they officially confirmed back in 2016 that this current Hitman series will have three entries.

Hitman 2 won’t come out until November 13th of this year and it is likely that next-gen consoles will launch in the 2020s, so it is possible that a third game would be a next-gen title.

Of course, these job offers could be for something else entirely such as a new unannounced IP. What do you think? Tell us in the comments section below.
