Fortnite V5.20 lands with New Double Barrel Shotgun and Game Mode

Fortnite Content, Optimization, and Fixes for August 7th, 2018

Today, Epic Games has released their latest patch for Fortnite. Every drop comes with a series of bug fixes – this time it’s balanced vending machines and GPU optimization on the Nintendo Switch. In addition, there’s some brand-new content. Here are the details.

Fortnite Save the World Skins

For those who like to get up close and personal, Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a new Double Barrel Shotgun. That’s two devastating shots at close range. Since shotguns have historically served as match winners, this may be your new best friend.

The new Double Barrel Shotgun is accompanied by a new game mode in the form of “Steady Storm.” Over the course of 15 minutes, players battle against one another in an ever-enclosing storm and must pay attention to the map in order to predict which areas will be enveloped. There are no safe zone circles, and the storm does ten damage per second. Meanwhile, on mobile, Epic has implemented an all-new FPS Mode that allows mobile players to prioritize framerates per second.

Other highlights for Fortnite v5.20 include a new Mythic Outlander skin for Save the World. This comes in the form of Ragnarok, The Dark Viking. To read up on all the latest changes, you can discover the full patch notes here.

Happy gaming.
