Players currently subscribed to EA Origin Access will maintain all the benefits of the service; it shall simply be renamed ‘Basic’ tier. The service shall retain player access to ‘The Vault,’ EA’s ever-expanding library of games. This comes with a 10% discount on games purchased through the Origin Store, as well as five-day early access to newly released titles and ten hours of play without purchase.

Unveiled during EA Play 2018, EA’s new ‘Premier” tier brings all the benefits of the currents service on top of unlimited access to new games. The service will function similar to Xbox Game Pass, with the added benefit of early access. Of course, in order to acquire these new games, players must pay a higher price. $4.99 per month, or $29.99 annually, is the cost of Origin Access at the time of this writing. Next week, when the Premier tier goes live, players can up the payment to $14.99 a month—or $99.99 annually—to play new games as they arrive.

The new ‘Premier’ tier may be convenient on a case-by-case basis. If new AAA titles are $60 a pop, and a subscriber intends to play at least two during the year, then a $99 annual fee seems like an economical decision. Hence, you must ask yourself if games like Anthem, Battlefield V, Madden NFL 19, and FIFA 19 are enticing for the price.
