Latest Sea of Thieves Patch Adds Gunpowder Skeletons

Splodey Good Times

Sea of Thieves is either a rollicking good time or an empty vessel, depending on what kind of fun you seek out in your games. Rare has worked to ensure that regular content updates keep their pirate players coming back, although the activities are still geared towards a more DIY sort of privateer. To that end, the latest patch comes complete with a new kind of enemy: the Gunpowder Skeletons.

Gunpowder Skeletons

The aforementioned skeletons are the second Bilge Rat Adventure following the Skeleton Throne event from the previous update. Like last time, the Gunpowder Skeletons will hang around long after the quest rewards and cosmetics have vanished. Players can take advantage of these new enemies in a variety of ways, most of which involve blowing up your enemies. Alright, all of them involve blowing up your enemies.

The Gunpowder Skeletons event will run from now until July 10th. After that, players will only have the skeletons themselves (along with those delightfully deadly kegs) as a reminder of what they missed. That is, unless you manage to successfully complete the event. Then the bragging rights will be permanently affixed to you/your ship for all to witness. Sea of Thieves is available now on Xbox One and Windows PC.
