DICE Teases All-New “Airborne” Mode for Battlefield V

Will we See other new modes in Battlefield V?

Ever since its worldwide reveal earlier this month, fans have been gearing up for the inevitable E3 presentation of Battlefield V. A schedule hasn’t stopped DICE from sprinkling new information as we go, however. First, we learned that there will be no Premium Pass or loot boxes. Today, new information has been spilled on Twitter regarding an all-new game mode.

DICE has teased the arrival of their all-new multiplayer mode that starts in the air. Players can fulfill their long-time wishes of dropping from the skies as paratroopers. “Say hello to Airborne: a new Battlefield V mode where you’ll parachute into the battlefield and work with your squad to destroy enemy artillery, or defend them and make sure the threat from above is dealt with,” writes the official Battlefield V Twitter account. A first for the franchise, the multiplayer mode will comprise one team on the ground and one team dropping from the air. Once boots literally hit the ground, players must squad up and begin the assault.

Following the launch of Battlefield V on October 19, DICE will implement additional content through their “Tides of War” live service. We’ll be witnessing maps across the various WWII theaters, and it will be interesting to see how devs incorporate new game modes. And did I mention there will be no Premium Pass? Over time, players will gain access to new unlockables for their expansive customization opportunities. Everything is a part of how EA and DICE are redefining the ongoing Battlefield experience. Stay tuned for additional updates leading up to E3 and beyond.
