Destiny 2: Warmind Brings New Maps, End-Game Content, & Ranked Play

Destiny 2: Warmind Brings a Plethora of New Rewards

Bungie has delivered the latest expansion for Destiny 2, which entails all-new endgame content as well as a new breed of gameplay. The shared-world FPS brings more to the table with additional maps, conquests, Exotics, and an all-new boss—not to mention ranked matches for The Crucible.

Destiny 2: Warmind is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. To play on PC, players must download via Blizzard’s Battlenet platform. Once on board, you can experience a variety of new content. Storywise, players can follow the mission of Ana Bray, which further builds on the lore of Destiny’s universe and fleshes out yet another character.

Finally, at long last, Bungie is also bringing additional Vault Space. This will work very well with the powerful upgrades of the Warmind expansion – New Exotic gear and weaponry can be acquired and stored from Destiny 2’s season 3 update. Additionally, the updates come with Ranked Crucible play, new Crucible maps, Private Matches, and much more. It’s a refreshed PvP experience, one that stems from community feedback.

“We are excited about the future of the Destiny franchise. Together, as partners with Bungie, we have taken various steps to create a dialogue between those who make the game, and those who play,” said Byron Beede, executive vice president and general manager for Destiny at Activision. He added, “Warmind represents another step toward bringing the Destiny 2 hobby back to our dedicated players.”

“Since the launch of Destiny, we have played alongside and seen our amazingly passionate fans help evolve our universe. With Warmind, we want to show we are actively listening to the global community and that we are also committed to respecting players’ time in game. We know many of our fans have expressed a need for deeper endgame activities in Destiny 2, with more meaningful rewards, and we are excited to continue to improve that experience for them with this release,” said Sam Jones, project lead at Bungie.

Furthermore, the new Warmind expansion was made possible by the help of devs over at Vicarious Visions. Working with Bungie, they’ve brought a new mode in the form of Escalation Protocol. For every wave of Hive the players survive, additional waves will increase in difficulty. Like the new campaign content, Escalation Protocol is set on the polar ice caps of Mars. An additional Raid Lair has been made available, too. Called “Spire of Stars,” players can brave the new gauntlet for better loot when it goes live on May 11th.

“Vicarious Visions is proud to be a part of this franchise as fans, and now as developers,” said Jennifer Oneal, studio head for Vicarious Visions. She added, “We’ve learned a lot from Bungie while working together and we hope the players see the care and craft we’ve given Warmind.”

Players can pick Destiny 2: Warmind for $19.99. As a timed-exclusive, PlayStation 4 players can acquire loot from a Strike called The Insight Terminus. The Strike will reward players with an exclusive armor set for each class. No word yet on when it will arrive for other systems. Stay tuned for updates when they arrive.
