Bethesda Officially Announces Fallout 76

“When the Fighting Has Stopped, and the Fallout Has Settled…”

On Tuesday, Bethesda teased an announcement for a new Fallout game and launched a Twitch livestream that ended up mostly being nothing. However, on Wednesday, they finally revealed the new game they’ve been teasing: Fallout 76.

Not much is know about this upcoming Fallout game other than that it’ll be an “online game of some sort”, according to Kotaku. The official website link in the teaser’s YouTube description doesn’t have any more info. According to the official Fallout Twitter account more will be shown next month at E3.

Notably, the teaser trailer showed a character on TV standing in front of a Vault 76, though it isn’t currently confirmed whether or not it’s the same Vault 76 that’s been mentioned in previous Fallout games.

Fallout 76

If Kotaku’s information is correct then this wouldn’t be the first time that Bethesda has launched an online or MMO-style game for one of its franchises. The developer launched The Elder Scrolls Online back in 2014 and it’s become a success so it’s not unlikely that Bethesda has decided to give a Fallout MMO a go.

It currently isn’t know on which platforms Fallout 76 will be available but presumably it’ll be on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
