These Creatures in the SoulsBorne-RPG ‘Dolmen’ Are Looking Creepy

The Team Behind the Sci-Fi Horror RPG Revealed Some Details About a Boss Character!

The team behind the “SoulsBorne” action-RPG “Dolmen” have released a new video that went into detail about the first boss of the game: Queen Caniptei. Check it out in the video that’s posted below!

The Queen is protected by creatures known as Caniptei workers whose design is said to be inspired by Steven Spielberg’s dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. The team behind Dolmen, known as Massive Work Studio, described the Caniptei workers as “relentless in their devotion to the Queen”. They’ll do anything to protect her from harm and, if their terrifying and creepy looking design is anything to go by, players will need to be careful when it comes to fighting them.

“It is in the player’s best interest to defeat a Caniptei worker quickly before a horde accumulates,” explained Massive Work Studio.

Of course, the Queen herself is no push-over either, said the developer team. Though she uses her workers to deal with the threats to their nest for her, she’s still perfectly capable of defending herself.

“She isn’t entirely defenseless, however, as once she’s threatened enough to attack, she makes use of her devastating tentacles that can crush and impale those who invade her territory,” added the team.

They also described the Queen as “an imposing, domineering matriarch” that rules over the nest. The team also said that her design was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu and the mythological Norse creature known as the Kraken.

As of writing, the Kickstarter for Dolmen has collected $27,553 of its $90,000 goal and the project only has 20 days left to meet that goal.

Dolmen is currently scheduled to come out in late 2019 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 (the Switch version of the game has been called “an early stretch goal”).
