Divinity: Original Sin 2 Makes Its Way to Consoles This Summer

The Turn-Based RPG Will Be Available on the Xbox One & PS4!

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is coming to the Xbox One and PS4 this August, announced Bandai Namco Entertainment on Thursday. Bandai will be working alongside the game’s developer & publisher Larian Studios to port the critically-acclaimed RPG to consoles.

In Divinity: Original Sin 2, players go on a journey through a open-world known as Rivellon alongside a group of unique characters. There are five different character backgrounds (or “origins”) that you can choose for your character along with being able to have your own custom background.

You can go anywhere in Rivellion and talk to anyone you wish and you can also play cooperatively with up to three other friends. There is also a two-player split-screen mode.

“It was very important to us to have Divinity: Original Sin 2 distributed by a team that understands how to bring RPGs to a broad audience,” said Swen Vincke, the founder and CEO of Larian Studios. “With Dark Souls and The Witcher, Bandai Namco Entertainment demonstrated they know how to do exactly that and so I’m very happy we’ll have their support.”

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to work with Larian Studios who has already shown its talented work through the previous games,” said Hervé Hoerdt, the Vice President of Marketing & Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. “We are extremely pleased to bring this outstanding title to our lineup by offering new epic adventures to console gamers with the deepest RPG worlds ever created.”

We reviewed Divinity: Original Sin 2 last year and awarded it a score of 89 out of 100. “With an absolutely gorgeous setting, deeply rich and complex character development, intelligent and tactical combat that is still user-friendly, and literally hundreds of ways to play through the game, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an absolute must-have for fans of fantasy RPGs,” our review read.
