The 2nd DLC Expansion for Destiny 2 Adds Several New Features
The second DLC expansion for Destiny 2, titled “Destiny 2 Expansion II: Warmind“, was revealed during an official Bungie Twitch stream on Tuesday. The release date for Warmind was also revealed: it’ll come out on May 8th. A trailer for Warmind can be viewed below!
In Warmind, players take control of a Guardian named Ana Bray who is trying to discover her lost past while battling an alien race known as the Hive. There’s also an giant supercomputer that can conduct strategic warfare (known in-game as a “Warmind”) named Warmind Rasputin that the Hive are trying to destroy.
Even though this is a Destiny 2 DLC, Warmind can still be purchased as a standalone game.
Here’s a list of all the DLC’s new features:
- All-new Raid Lair: Spire of Stars
- New themed weapons, armor and gear to earn
- All-new ritual activity: Escalation Protocol
- All-new relic weapon, The Valkrie
- New Strikes
- New story missions and adventures
- New destination polar ice caps of Mars
- Access to multiplayer arenas in Private Matches
Escalation Protocol is a new Public Event mode that has players fight seven waves of Hive enemies. However, this mode can only be unlocked after beating the Warmind campaign since it is meant to be an endgame mode.
