Unique Co-Op Title A Way Out Has Already Sold 1 Million Copies

In Just Over Two Weeks A Way Out Has Sold 1 Million Copies

Hazelight Studios, the independent developer behind the new and exciting co-op adventure A Way Out, has just announced their game has officially sold over one million copies. Given that the game just came out at the end of March, that’s a huge milestone. And what’s even more interesting is that A Way Out has already sold more than EA thought it ever would.

A Way Out

As Josef Fares, the master mind behind A Way Out, was quick to point out, if the game has already sold one million copies, that means there are at least two million people playing. What’s more is that this popular co-op has already sold more than their previous title, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons did in a whole entire year. You can check out the big reveal on Twitter below.

Maybe the success is due to the inspiring F*ck the Oscars moment Josef Fares had during last year’s Game Awards, or maybe its because of the unique couch co-op idea. Either way A Way Out is definitely proving the critics wrong. Hell, it’s even sold more copies than EA thought it would in its entire lifetime. According to some leaked information from EA last year they expected A Way Out to sell 203,000 copies by March 31st, and 894,000 in total. Only time will tell just how many copies A Way Out will sell, but if it keeps going like this, there’s no telling how many people it will reach.

If you’re wondering whether you should dive into the action with a friend, you can check out our review here, as well as some of the highlights shared by EA. “What begins as a thrilling breakout quickly turns into an unpredictable, emotional adventure unlike anything seen or played before. A Way Out is an experience that must be played with two players. Each player controls one of the main characters, Leo and Vincent, in a reluctant alliance to break out of prison and gain their freedom.”
