Xbox Insiders Have Already Got Their Hands on the Large Xbox One Spring Update

Xbox One Spring Update Starts Rolling Out

Back in January, we told you how Xbox Insiders were able to check out the “Next Achievements” feature. Today, we learned that the Xbox One Spring update is releasing soon and it is going to add a glut of new features to Microsoft’s Xbox One console. Xbox Insiders have already got their grubby little mitts on the update.

Specifically, those in the Alpha Ring have got their hands on the update right now. The Spring update will add support for 1440p video output for both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S consoles. You will be able to find this option in the “Display & Sound” menu in settings that is, of course, if you are an Insider.

Furthermore, Mixer is also getting a share controller option, which many seem pumped about.

When streaming through Mixer, gamers can now pass off control to a viewer, who can either play using a plugged in controller, or with onscreen controls. Mixer will also receive a set of quality of life upgrades on Xbox One, primarily with streams no longer auto-ending when you switch between games.

Other improvements and changes are part of the update being implemented include:

  • Invite filtering for club owners;
  • Smarter feeds;
  • The ability to start or join a tournament without being a member of a club; and
  • Additional audio options.
