Details of World War Z Game Revealed

World War Z Game Will Have Hordes of Fastmoving Zombies

Many new details of the World War Z game have been revealed by Matthew Karch, the CEO of Saber Interactive, the game’s developer. In addition to confirming that the game is a third-person shooter with an over-the-shoulder perspective, he revealed details regarding the zombies.

Karch says that they will feature procedural behaviour to ensure that each mission provides a different gameplay experience. And he says that hordes of fastmoving zombies from the movie are a key focus of the game.

“The idea is to give players the flexible option to play alone or with friends at any time,” said Karch. “To me, the real fun with swarms is the online co-op experience – World War Z is the only game to offer an online experience with such massive quantities of fastmoving enemies.”

“The sheer quantity of swarming enemies on the screen and the way they interact by climbing over one another to reach areas that would be safe in other games is unique to World War Z. I would say it truly defines the game. Fighting the swarms that can be either one massive enemy or 1,000 individual ones is exhilarating and addicting.”

Although it’s not certain if the game will release near the movie’s sequel, the Karch assures that the game will capture the vibe of the film.

“We tried very hard to replicate the feel of the film in this respect. The major difference is that in the film you would normally flee the enemy, but in the game, you will be forced to fight. You can blow up cars to kill hordes of zombies and destroy certain structures to alter their path. You can also build fences, plant mines and barbed wire, and place turrets in anticipation of incoming horde.”

Locations at launch will be set in New York City, Moscow, Jerusalem, and Korea. More will continue to be released after it’s initial release.

World War Z has no fixed release date and is set to hit PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
