Woman Stabs Her Boyfriend With a Sword Because He Played Too Much PUBG

Well Too Much PUBG…and He May Have Cheated

Though violence in video games has been an ongoing discussion in the media, this story’s definitely a disturbing one. Police arrested a woman from Washington state earlier this month after she stabbed her boyfriend with a “samurai sword.” And her reasoning? She thought he may have been cheating on her….well that, and he played too much PUBG.

Yes, you read that right, he was playing too much PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. According to court documents Barber Emily Javier,  was tired of her aspiring professional PUBG player boyfriend, Alex Lovell, playing the popular title. As a result of his time spent on the game, Lovell was spending less time with Javier. In fact, Lovell stated in recent interview that he plays PUBG for 12 hours every day. According to the court documents, “Lovell just sits at home all day playing video games and does not do anything to help.” What pushed Javier over the edge however, is the fact that she suspected he was cheating.

Of course while anyone in her situation may have just broken up with him, she got her revenge in a rather horrific way. After finding Tinder on Lovell’s phone, and some different colored hairs in the shower drain of their home, Javier set a plan in motion. Last month she went to the mall and purchased a “samurai sword” that she hid along with two knives taped to the bed. In the middle of the night Javier pulled out the weapons and stabbed Lovell with the sword. Luckily, Lovell woke up and fought her off, though not before she was able to cut his fingers off almost to the base, and lacerate his limbs.

While Lovell survived the attack, he’ll be recovering from his injuries for the next several weeks, while his (hopefully) ex-girlfriend has been charged with attempted murder.  According to the police report Javier stated, “I was trying to kill him for cheating. That was my purpose.”
