Mars Will Be More Visceral, Thanks to DOOM’s New 4K Update

2016’s Most Acclaimed Shooter Looks Better Than Ever

Some of the best games get continued support well after their initial release date. DOOM (and just about any Bethesda game) is a prime example. The latest news for the first-person shooter deals with a 4K resolution update.

On March 29th, players will be able to download the free update that grants 4K visuals to DOOM. What’s incredible about this update is the fact that the 2016 game was already stunning at 1080p resolution. But, the devs are just willing to go that extra mile. Publisher Bethesda took the time to bring the experience to Nintendo Switch and make it compatible with PSVR. There’s no telling what will come next.

You can catch a glimpse of DOOM 4K gameplay in action. Discover the trailer below.

The new 4K update for DOOM applies to both the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro. Therefore, if you have access to a high-end tv, tomorrow will be as good a time as ever to pick up or revisit the game. FYI, it is available for a rather cheap price on Amazon, and you can read what our own Nicholas Plouffe had to say in his review.

“You’re simply not going to be bored by anything DOOM throws at you. For most people, arena and corridor fights are fun. Glory kills are fun. Quick-swapping weapons through a weapon wheel and using everything in your arsenal, all of your ammo, your chainsaw fuel, and even a couple of frantic shots from the classic BFG just to make sure you clear out every last demon on a tough fight is, you guessed it, fun.”
