Another Nintendo Direct Is Around the Corner, This Time Focusing on ‘Nindies’

Tune In on Tuesday, March 20th for a New Nintendo Indie Showcase

On the heels of a strong Nintendo Direct that aired earlier this month, Nintendo has announced another Direct focused on new indie games, or “Nindies,” for the Nintendo Switch. The live broadcast will air next week on Tuesday, March 20th at 9 AM PT/ 12 PM ET.

The Nindies Showcase can be streamed from Nintendo’s official live video website or from their YouTube page. The timing isn’t coincidental either, as this years’ Game Developers Conference (GDC) is running from March 19th to the 23rd. There is a good chance that the Nindies showcases on Tuesday will also be shown at GDC.

There are plenty of independent games in the pipeline for the Switch including anticipated titles like Hollow Knight, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Knight, Kentucky Route Zero, and Wargroove. We’re hoping that we’ll finally get some concrete release dates and probably a few new announcements as well. The Switch has seen a ton of support from indie developers and the momentum doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.

The previous Nindies Showcase was back in August 2017 where popular indie games like Shovel Knight: King of Cards, Super Meat Boy Forever, and Travis Strikes Again were announced. It ran for approximately 22 minutes, so it’s possible this latest one will run just as long if not longer.

You’ll be able to watch the live presentation in the video below, so keep this page bookmarked.
