Fortnite Mobile Has Already Rocketed Its Way to the Top of the iOS Store

Fortnite Mobile Seems to Have Has Risen in Spite of Its Limited Availability

The popularity of Fortnite made it inevitable that a mobile release would be on its way soon, and Fortnite mobile is already dominating the iOS charts, despite the fact that it’s only available to those lucky enough to receive an invite.

Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite Battle Royale, announced earlier this month that Fortnite mobile would be a reality, and say that it is “…the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.” This means the app will have the same map, the same weekly updates, the same battle royale style gameplay, and the same two-hundred foot wooden towers.

It even has cross-platform play across iOS, Android, PC, Mac, and the PS4 and Xbox One. The cross platform-pool is to allow mobile users to play with friends, so if a mobile player wishes to play with their PC friend, then the mobile player will be put into a pool of PC players. This is an opt-in feature, so don’t be put off by thinking you’ll be playing against PC players on your mobile.

Though it is currently only available through iOS invites to anyone with an Apple phone/iPad, Android users will be getting access some time in the near future, before they release it to the public completely. There is no confirmed release date for an Android release, so we might be waiting for a while.

Fortnite isn’t the only battle royale game to get a mobile release, however. PUBG has just dropped its mobile version in Canada, and will soon be spreading to the rest of the world once some initial testing has been completed.
