Friday the 13th: The Game Trailer Teases Jason Weapon Swapping

Though the initial hype of Friday the 13th: The Game has died down a bit, there are still more than a few hardcore fans playing the game. And despite a rocky launch, frequent content updates have made the game continuously better. Now, it looks like there will be a new update making Friday the 13th even more badass.

That’s right,  Friday the 13th: The Game publisher Gun Media has recently released a brand new trailer teasing weapon swapping for Jason. With this upcoming change, players will be able to swap their weapons out for other variations used by Jason. Currently, each Jason inspired by the different movies has a unique weapon and special kill. This new feature will give players the ability to mix and match weapons and kills between the various Jason skins.

This feature was announced a few days ago, showing off this weapon changing feature in action. Here’s what Gun Media had to say about this latest change. “Killer Accessories… Have a favorite Jason, but wish you could change his weapon? Would you love to see Part 3 Jason perform a Part 6 kill? You’re in luck (victims, not so much). Coming soon, Jason players will be able to choose their weapon from the player customization screen…. Mix, Match, and Slash!” You can check out the new trailer below.

The community manager of Friday the 13th: The Game explained some of the possibilities for this upcoming update. “Today we wanted to show you something that will be important to our fans who prefer to play as Jason. In the next update, and when you reach a sufficient progression level, you will be able to switch Jason’s weapon. Jason Part VII with a machete? Sure. Roy with a pig splitter? Go for it.”

And the new update won’t just add the weapon swap feature the mix. PC players can get excited because custom key-binding is finally making its way to the game. Of course, if you’ve been following Friday the 13th: The Game since it’s release you will know this feature has been requested often as a way to make it easier for left-handed players to get in on the action by swapping out their control scheme. “With Jason being able to switch up his arsenal, we’re happy to let players know that custom key-binding is on the way for our PC players. We know that this is something that you have wanted for a while now, and our left-handed players have certainly been asking us about, and we’re happy to implement this highly requested feature.”

No word yet on a release date for this update, so keep it locked for updates! Are you excited about these upcoming changes? Let us know in the comments below.
